What is the difference between a transcript translation and a transcript evaluation?
A 'transcript translation' is an official word-for-word translation of certificates from the original language into English.
In a transcript evaluation, your official grades are converted into the American grading system.
Colleges need this system in order to be able to evaluate your grades according to the American grading system.
The evaluation is the calculation of your GPA, Grade Point Average (Grade point average). The total grade point average of your certificates from the 9th grade on is calculated with this. This is calculated using the American grading scale that all US high schools and universities use. This scale is based on a 4.0 scale. In this scale, a 4.0 equals a 1.0 in the German system. The universities decide whether you need an evaluation and which provider should be used to calculate it. For NAIA universities, it is always InCred.
Tip:
If you need a transcript translation and this is not included in your contract we can have all your transcripts translated for a fee. This also applies to the evaluation. Please contact your Admission Consultant about this.
