Send your transcripts to US college by email

Send your transcripts to US college by email

In addition to your application for your US school, you need to send your GCSE and, if you have them BTEC/A-Level certificates (or your countries equivalent) to your US school so they can evaluate your application.
Info
If you have uploaded copies of your certificates during the application process, the university will deem these as "unofficial" and will still require you to have your high school send them for them to be "official."
They will accept scanned copies, as long as they come directly from your high school. If you have not yet fully completed your BTEC L3/A-Levels you do not need to send these, you only need to send your GCSE certificates. You must contact your sixth form/high school/college and obtain your official certificates, unless you have them already.
Alert
Even if you have left the school, you will still need to get this completed. We find emailing an old teacher/head of year/exams officer or going in to request this is the best way. If you went to one school for your GCSEs then another for your BTEC L3/A-Levels, you will need to get each school to send an email with their certificates!

You must obtain the below:
Warning
Please ensure what you have your school send looks like the images below. You cannot submit the grade report sheet received on results day. It must be copies of your actual certificates!
  1. GCSE, BTEC Level 2 and 3/A Level certificates.
    1. The grade report you receive on results day will not be accepted.
  2. Get quality colour PDF scans of your certificates. Genius scan is a free app which will let you do this on your phone. You need one document for each credential (not each page!).
    1. See example GCSE/A-Level and BTEC transcripts below (they don't need to be stamped and signed if being emailed from your school). There are different formats on how certificates look, it can depend on your secondary school and the exam board that they use.
  3. It is important that they are the correct transcript as the school will see the grade/number score and subject.
Unit report sheets are needed

Once you have your certificates
Once your certificates are scanned they are ready to be sent to your university in the US.
  1. The school staff member you have chosen at your school needs to send an email to your school in the US with the PDF of your certificates as an attachment. Pass along the information below to the person who will be sending them.
  2. The email it needs to be sent to is usually a generic admissions@schoolname.edu email address which can be found on your school application portal.
  3. The subject line for the email should be Students full name - Student ID number (if you have one) - Transcripts
    1. E.g. Emily Jacobs - Student #1809765 - Transcripts
  4. The text of the email:
Hello,
I am a school administrator/counsellor/teacher/principal (choose the one that best suits) from school name. Attached you can find name of student's transcripts. These include the students GCSE /BTEC L3 / A-Level results.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best regards,
