What vaccinations / medical documents do I need?
The vaccinations you need vary from college to college. You will usually receive a medical health form from the college listing the vaccinations.
In any case, you should keep your immunization record up to date and scan all pages, including the cover page, as a .pdf file.
As a rule, however, you should have the following vaccinations:
Measles, mumps, rubella
Hepatitis B
Tetanus
Meningitis ACWY vaccination
DDepending on the university, you may need a tuberculosis blood or skin test, and in rare cases, a chest X-ray.
You may also need to take your medical documents to your family doctor, who will fill them out for you and answer questions about your vaccinations and/or your general health.
All future NCAA athletes (Division I, II, III) are required to undergo a sickle cell anemia test before they are allowed to participate in athletic activities at their new university.
Please consult with your doctor about having this test done before you enter the US. If you are NOT able to have this test done here, please contact your college coach and inquire about options for getting tested on campus in the US. For more information, click HERE.
