What ist the tb test (tuberculosis test)?
Some American universities require you to have a tuberculosis test. This can be a blood or skin test to determine if you have had contact with tuberculosis bacteria in the past.
Since the tuberculosis test is not often required in Europe you may have to do some research to find a doctor who will perform the test. Usually lung specialists offer the test or can help you. You can also ask the college or coach if you can take the test on Campus but in some cases you may not perform until you receive the test result.
Hint:
At some universities you will be asked whether you have visited certain risk countries in the last 5 years. If you can deny this, you can waive the test in this case. However, this is decided by the university alone. If the university requires the TB test in any case, you have to take it.
