How long should my passport be valid?
If possible, your passport should be valid for the entire validity of the visa, i.e. for at least 5 years.
If your passport expires during your studies, you will have to apply for a new passport in the meantime and then always travel with two passports, as the visa is not transferable.
It can also happen that your municipality cancels the old passport and damages the visa or even shreds the old passport with the visa, as has already happened to some customers. You would then have to apply for a new visa during the semester break and pay the fee again.
Therefore, please check the validity of your passport in advance to avoid such unnecessary complications.
