The IB Diploma Programme (DP) is completed over two years and is equivalent to 11th and 12th grade in the U.S. education system.
Language of transcripts
- If the IB programme is taught entirely in English, you only need to submit transcripts in English.
- If the IB is taught partly in English and partly in another language, you will need to submit transcripts in both languages.
In some schools, the IB is completed alongside the National Baccalaureate. In this case, you must request both sets of transcripts:
- IB transcripts
- National Baccalaureate transcripts
Which grades you need, depending on your situation
If you are currently in IB Year 2 - In this case, you will need two sets of grades.
1. Grades from the end of IB Year 1
Depending on your school, these grades may be provided in different formats:
- Final predicted grades at the end of IB Year 1.
- Two types of grades at the end of IB Year 1:
- Grades based on coursework completed during IB Year 1.
- Predicted grades estimating the results you are expected to achieve in the final IB exams.
- Predicted grades at the end of IB Year 1, followed by updated predicted grades issued in December of IB Year 2.
The exact format will depend on your school’s assessment system.
2. Final IB grades
Once you complete the IB programme, you must request through your school’s internal portal that the final grades are sent directly to the university, as universities require official delivery.
If you have already completed the IB
In this case, only your final IB grades are required, and they must be sent officially to the university by your school .
An example document is attached for reference, which you can share with your school if needed.
