Orientation is a period at the beginning of the semester during which new students are welcomed and introduced to the university. Orientation Day can last one day, but at some universities it can last a week and is usually mandatory for incoming freshmen, i.e., new students. Ask your coach when Orientation Week will take place at your future university. If Orientation takes place before you arrive in the US, many universities also offer the option of participating in a digital orientation event.
